Anstruther is a busy fishing village in East Neuk, Fife. A very popular holiday and day-trippers destination for people locally and Worldwide, it is one of the very beautiful fishing villages in this area of Scotland. It also has probably the best fish and chips restaurant and carry out in Scotland, it is well worth visiting Anstruther just for the fish and chips. The harbour has been developed into a small marina in recent years and you can watch local fishing boats arrive with their catch of lobsters, prawns and fish.

From the harbour you can take a boat trip during the main tourism season to the Isle of May with its puffins, seals and wildlife, visit early to see the puffins before they disperse to open water after the breeding season. Or if you prefer being on dry land yet are still fascinated by the sea and history of coastal villages and the fishing industry then a visit to the Scottish Fisheries Museum is a must.

Anstruther is yet another wonderful tourist destination, stay for a day or a month and you will love it.
