Dovecot Caravan Park
Dovecot Caravan Park, North Water Bridge is near Laurencekirk and close to Montrose. It is about a 40 minutes drive from Dundee on the A90 and it is situated next to the North Esk River. The North Esk is a good salmon river for those of you interested in fishing. The site is highly rated and is surrounded by countryside. On our visit to this site we were very impressed with the site, the toilets are immaculate, the site is very well kept. The owners David and Adele Mowatt have run the site for over 17 years and their care and attention is evident throughout the site.
Dogs are welcome on the site as long as they are kept on the lead and you excercise the dog in the area along the river away from the caravans and tents - and you clean up afterwards. While walking our dogs along the river bank we were impressed by the many wild birds. Many of the caravans are privately owned and well looked after.
The site has one caravan to rent at a very reasonable rate for 6 people sharing. There is also a small cottage "the Bothy" that can sleep 4. The cottage has a Visit Scotland Grading of 3 Stars, the carvan site has 4 stars. The site is open 7 months, spring to Autumn and campers and tourers are very welcome, please phone in advance to make sure there is space available.
