Dunnet beach looking towards the harbour at Castletown
Dunnet Bay and Beach overlooks the Pentland Firth, the connecting stretch of water between mainland Britain and the Orkney Islands.
The beautiful sandy beach streches from Castletown to the village of Dunnet. The historic harbour at Castletown is well worth a visit due to the local stone used in its construction as well as the local visitor attraction, Castlehill Heritage Centre.
The area has a number of hotels as well as bed and breakfast accommodation and cottages to rent for holidays in the far north of Scotland. Located next to the beach is the popular Dunnet Bay Caravan Club Campsite.
