Dundee is one of Scotland's cities. There is a lot to do and see at Dundee with the famous ship Discovery and the Unicorn, both are open for visitors and these are essential visitor attractions for everyone visiting Dundee. Nearby are many places to visit including Broughty Ferry, Carnoustie, Abroath and the country towns of Kirriemuir, Brechin and Forfar. From Dundee you look across the Tay towards St Andrews and Tayport in the Kingdom of Fife.

The Discovery is opposite the Dundee railway station, there is also nearby car parking. This is one of Scotland's main tourism attractions and should be on everyones list of things to see and do. The exhibits are educational and fun and kids will love it. You can explore most of the ship and it is certainly atmospheric with the dim lighting and recorded sounds. For a family day out we can highly recommend visiting Scotland's Discovery in the City of Dundee.
The Dundee Observatory is well known and is another visitor attraction for kids of all ages. Adults and children will find the exibits educational and fascinating. During the winter months you can also look through the telescopes at distant planets and stars and during the summer sun spots can be seen using the sun image. On our visit to the observatory we purchased a fossil millions of years old from the observatory shop, it is now proudly shown off in our living room. If you want to get an unusual present or gift then pop into the shop for fossils, stones and telescopes. The proceeds from the shop, which is run by Dundee Council, goes towards the upkeep of the observatory.
From the observatory you get a clear view of the Law Hill and it is a short journey by car to the top of the Law. An interesting feature of Law Hill the allotments that surround the hill. An allotment is a small area of land you can rent and grow flowers and vegetables. During World War II Britain had many allotments and these helped feed people during and after the war. Today many allotements are used as a way of reducing stress while enjoying the outdoors. It is about time we created more of these instead of building more houses. Back to the Law Hill, at the top is the war memorial and views over all of Dundee and the surrounding countryside.
