Aberdour is a small village not far from the Forth Road Bridge. It is very easy to travel to from Edinburgh and Dunfermline, by car, bicycle or train. Aberdour train station must be one of the best kept railway stations in Scotland, it is surrounded by flowers and the railway station even has its own greenhouses to grow the flowers that adore the station.

Aberdour

Aberdour also has an ancient castle that is open to the public with Historic Scotland and all the family will enjoy a visit to this fascinating castle, remember to go to the top of the castle as it is easy to miss the stairs up to the higher levels. The Historic Scotland shop has books and gifts as well as real Scottish Whisky on sale, and for a break or lunch you can eat inside the tearoom or outside in the castle grounds. The gardens have many herbaceous flowering plants and you can wander around the garden and enjoy the historical views.
